Director of Athletics receives contract extension

Indiana State University Director of Athletics Sherard Clinkscales has received a two-year contract extension through June 2025 with a university option to extend two years beyond that date.

Clinkscales came to ISU in 2016. He has bolstered the academic performance of athletes, fundraising, and facilities. The Sycamores posted a third-place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference All-Sports Trophy race in 2020-21, ISU’s best since 2013-14. Clinkscales started the annual Tried & True gala honoring longtime donors. He is a member of the Division I NCAA Baseball Selection Committee for the postseason tournament.

“We are happy to enter into this new contract extension with AD Clinkscales,” ISU President Dr. Deborah J. Curtis said. “AD Clinkscales has brought a renewed level of expectation and energy to our Sycamore Athletics programs. As the Be So Bold campaign rolls out, we are looking forward to working together to grow support for our student-athletes and coaches.”

Said Clinkscales: “I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve our student-athletes and coaches at Indiana State University. I want to thank President Curtis for her confidence in my leadership and support for our athletic department.”
