City of Sullivan recently issued the following announcement.
City of Sullivan launches summer internship program!
Sullivan Mayor Clint Lamb has officially announced the Sullivan Summer Internship Program (SSIP). This exciting initiative is created for high school or college students, giving them an opportunity to work alongside the Mayor and his team and gain unique insight into local government by working on current and future projects.
“We are very excited for this program. Our students will one day be making their own mark on their communities, hopefully right here in Sullivan,” stated Mayor Clint Lamb. “Why should we wait for this generation to leave their mark when they can be doing that right now?”
Two students will be hired for the summer term with an opportunity to earn a $1,000 stipend upon completion of the program. The students will have the opportunity to explore areas of interest as it relates to City projects and departments.
“Our administration’s vision has always been devoted to the future of the community. Investing in the experiences and opportunities of our students helps to engrain the value of citizenship and the genuine meaning of taking time to care,” continued Lamb.
The program will last two months, beginning on June 1, 2022, and ending August 1, 2022. Students can expect to devote 20 hours a week. Interested applicants are encouraged to drop off a resume, cover letter and a reference list to City Hall or email them to mayor@cityofsullivan.in.gov.
