Speakers:
Jeremy Kranowitz is a passionate sustainability and environmental nonprofit executive with over 25 years of experience launching multi-stakeholder coalitions to address climate change, food loss and waste, clean air and water, and sustainable forestry.
He currently serves as President and CEO of Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, the largest affiliate in the Keep America Beautiful network. He leads the effort on a new strategic plan to create a more environmentally equitable city.
An ecopreneur, he founded the Further With Food coalition (furtherwithfood.org), which brought together industry, academia, government and nonprofits to efficiently share knowledge to combat wasted food and hunger.
Previously, he was Executive Director of Sustainable America, a nonprofit dedicated to more sustainable food and transportation fuel systems nationwide. He also managed the launch of Forest Trends, an international sustainable forestry nonprofit.
He has a Masters in Environmental Science and a B.A. in Social Sciences from Johns Hopkins University, and a Masters in Public Administration from New York University.
He currently serves on the board of directors at Sustainable America and the Herron-Morton Neighborhood Association.
Jeremy can be seen on the weekend going for long walks with his wife and three children -- and picking up litter along the way!
Lisa Cauldwell is a graduate of Indiana University holding a BS with Distinction in Health
and Safety. She completed her Master of Public Health Degree from IU
School of Medicine (IUPUI) in May 2001. She has been employed with the
Marion County Health Dept since 1990 and presently holds the position of
Indoor Air Quality Team Leader. She supervises the Indoor Air Staff as well
as performs indoor air quality investigations in schools and commercial
buildings. Lisa also performs home investigations, especially in relationship
to asthma referrals. Ms. Cauldwell is also a founding member of the InJAC
Coalition.
Barbara Kaplan is the National Director, Asthma Programs at the American Lung Association. Since 2003, Barbara has been the architect behind many successful, nationwide health education programs and initiatives empowering people living with chronic lung diseases, like asthma, to become more active and healthy. She educates communities on policies and practices that reduce the burden of asthma, recognizing the cultural differences that impact a person’s health and access to healthcare. Barbara works with Lung Association staff across the country on one of the organization’s strategic imperatives – to improve the quality of life for those with lung disease and their families. She is the principal investigator for two asthma projects funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Environmental Health – “Strategies Addressing Asthma in Schools,” and “Promoting Asthma Friendly Environments through Partnerships and Collaborations.” Barbara received a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of North Texas and an M.P.H. in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services.
