Healthy Living : Low Impact Cardio
Take charge of your health with help from the Library! Our classes will focus on exercise, healthy cooking and prevention and wellness. These activities were made possible, in part, with support from the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County.
Exercise classes will be every Monday at 9:30 a.m ET December - May.
December, April and May : Pat Waldo who is a “Certified Yoga Instructor” will teach chair yoga. It is a great form of yoga for beginners or anyone who wants to focus on a gentle practice. This class will focus on improving flexibility and balance.
January and February : Kristy Putnam, Tai Chi Easy™ Senior Trainer of the Integral Institute of Qigong and Tai Chi and a certified health coach. Tai Chi Easy™ is a practice that combines gentle exercises, breath practices, self-massage, and meditation to help you experience a refreshing, healing boost to body, mind, and spirit.
March : Join Moira every during the month of March as she runs a fun and challenging low impact cardiovascular class where participants will engage in exercise focused on strengthening their heart and lungs. She has been working in the Health and Wellness industry since 2015. Moira has worked with individuals from the ages of 8 to 98, most recently spending over two years at a Senior Living community in Indianapolis teaching a variety of group fitness classes and creating specialized programming for the residents. Moira's motto is "You don't have to love every form of exercise, but figure out what you enjoy and continue doing that."
Program runs every Monday during the month of March from 9:30am - 10:30am (ET).
These classes are geared toward seniors but all adults are welcome to attend.
After attending 10 programs, you will receive a water bottle. After attending 20 programs, you will receive a t-shirt.
