Butta’s Better BBQ Continues to Grow
A local barbeque food truck is expanding into the brick and mortar restaurant business less than a year after starting the venture. Butta’s Better Barbeque began as a food truck last July and has seen a lot of success.
“We’re excited to have our own restaurant and to serve more people,” co-owners Rodney and Catherine Hill said. “The community support has been awesome! There is so much we have learned by asking the right questions to the right people who could assist us.”
The location of the restaurant will be on North 19th Street with the ribbon cutting ceremony slated to take place later this spring. The food truck and catering have been a huge success for the business so far with the company boasting over one thousand followers on social media.
Terre Haute Chamber Black Business Alliance Coordinator LT Thompson has had a front row seat to the success story. “I’m extremely excited about Butter’s Better BBQ being a part of the BBA. They’re always willing to help and attend as much as possible while also managing and expanding a business.” Thompson said. “It’s awesome to see them take advantage of the BBA’s resources, and grow their business while continuing to serve the community with amazing food.”
The efforts of the BBA to unite black business owners in a concerted effort to strengthen that community aren’t lost on Rodney and Catherine. “The Black Business Alliance has and still continues to connect us with resources and organizations that help us grow and expand our business. They keep us informed,” Rodney said. “This lets us know that our community is definitely a level above.”
