Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College recently issued the following announcement.

After a hiatus due to the pandemic, The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) are thrilled to announce that the Wabash Valley

Leadership Institute (WVLI) is now accepting applications for the 11th cohort that will come together in spring of 2022. The Chamber and SMWC held a joint press conference last

week to express their excitement for the spring cohort and to discuss how WVLI has assisted many members of the community to be the best leaders for the Wabash Valley. Pam

Chamberlain ’21G and Danielle Isbell ’19G each spoke about their heartwarming experiences and the support they got and continue to receive.

WVLI, a partnership between The Chamber and SMWC, was launched in 2014 with the goal to provide leadership training for businesses and organizations in The Wabash Valley.

WVLI is in an immersive format for one week.  The curriculum focuses on leadership skills, personal growth, organizational behavioral skills. Participants engage in a wide variety

of learning methodologies including self-assessments, lectures, case study review, reflection, team building and peer coaching. This year, the cohort will reside in the newly added

residence building, Les Bois Hall, at SMWC.

“This program was developed with intentionality to create community connections among participants while honing their leadership skills,” stated SMWC President Dottie L. King,

Ph.D. “As a member of the first cohort, I have first-hand understanding of the value of the week with other community leaders. We learned together and even enjoyed many laughs

too!”

WVLI is open to adult learners throughout the Wabash Valley. Areas include Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties. Cohort members who successfully

complete the Wabash Valley Leadership Institute will receive three credit hours towards the Master of Leadership Development program or the Master of Healthcare Administration

program at SMWC. This year, the cohort will run from May 16-20. Applications are being accepted through April 22, with a limited number of seats. For more information, visit the
