Indiana State University Athletics recently issued the following announcement.
Sycamores Finish Day One of Nevel Meade Collegiate Tied for Tenth
Indiana State women's golf closed the first day of the Nevel Meade Collegiate tied for 10th as a team after posting a score of 635 (+59) thru 36 holes Monday. ISU's Kristen Hobbs is leading the team and tied for 10th individually at nine over par for the day.
Hobbs shot just seven over during the first half of the day to finish with a 79, including a pair of birdies on hole No. 5 and 14. The Anderson, Indiana native came back during the second half of the day and posted a 74 (+2) while picking up a birdie on the second hole of action.
Lauren Green and Chelsea Morrow each posted identical scores of +16 to tie for 38th overall. Green improved over the final 18 holes to finish with a 77 (+5) after shooting an 83 (+11) to open play. Morrow also improved from her first-round 81 (+9) to finish two-strokes better with a 79 (+7) to close the gap.
Molly Lee (80-82) sits tied for 50th while Madison Branum (85-83) rounded out the Sycamore scoring and is tied for 73rd, respectively.
Hosts Cleveland State and Youngstown State are tied for the lead (611) while Central Michigan sits in third (618) after day one of play.
