Indiana State University Athletics recently issued the following announcement.
Indiana State Tied for Fourth Following Day Two of MVC Championship
Indiana State women's golf sits tied for fourth place following the conclusion of the second round of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
Battling the wind and cold temperatures at Greenbriar Hills Country Club, the Sycamores shot 327 (+43) Monday. Overall, ISU is +63 over par, and six strokes out of third place with 18 holes remaining to play.
Junior Lauren Green moved up to 16th individually to lead the Sycamores after scoring a second-round 81 (+15). Chelsea Morrow sits just behind Green in 17th after logging a day two score of 83 to sit at 16-over-par for the tournament.
Kristen Hobbs and Molly Lee are each tied for 20th at 17-over-par while Madison Branum rounds out the ISU lineup card in 25th place after shooting an 81 on day two to sit at 18-over.
As a team, Indiana State has tallied 82 pars (6th) and 16 birdies (4th) through 36 holes.
Illinois State (+36) jumped up two spots on the leaderboard after carding a second-round 295 to lead the field. Missouri State (+43) posted a score of 303 Monday to sit in second while Drake (+57) is in third with a score of 316 in round two. ISU is just six strokes behind the Bulldogs at +63 after posting a second-round score of 327. Southern Illinois (+63) is also tied with the Sycamores after climbing three spots today.
Illinois State's Kehler Koss leads the field at six-over-par while fellow Redbird Ali Schrock is in second at seven-over. Just 15 players in the field of 52 recorded better rounds on day two with tough course conditions.
